The Trans Meghalaya cycling tour takes you across the three hill ranges of the state. Starting from the west in the Garo Hills, we ride eastewards across the Khasi and Jaintia hills, in essence taking in the best that the state has to offer. The state of Meghalaya is the first line of hills that the Monsoon clouds touch upon crossing peninsular India, hence it receives some of the highest rainfall anywhere on earth. The state has three distinct major tribes after whom the hills are known for.

Over the duration of this tour you will be cycling across the best that Meghalaya has to offer, coverning some of the deepest caves and highest waterfalls of Asia, meeting distinct cultures and sampling their cuisine. Visiting pristine wildlife sanctuaries, the living root bridges and most of all be mesmirized by wonderful panoramas that this state is so famous for.

    The terrain on this tour is totally hilly. Except for a few odd stretches the roads are generally excellent.

    Sturdy SUV’s or Mini-coaches and sturdier drivers will accompany you on every trip. These vehicles are along right from your airport pick up to your drop back to the airport.

    Post monsoon months of September- October and pre monsoon months of March-April are very pleasant with blue skies and a fair days. Peak winters are from November to February with the mercury coming down below 10 C, in the evenings, however the days are still favourable for cycling.

    We have a very experienced team which is also local. This reflects in the overall safety of our tours. Rest assured your guides know where extra attention is required and when. All our routes are well known to us, we know where the nearest medical facilities are, we know whom to contact if in case of an emergency, we know all the alternate routes in case of road blockages. We have CASEVAC protocols in place to streamline the process in case of emergencies.
